Blue Strawberry hosts ‘An Event Befitting a King’ at No. 4 Hamilton Place

Wednesday, May 17, 2023 - 12:15

Luxury event and catering company Blue Strawberry hosted a showcase event at No. 4 Hamilton Place in London. The guest list included those from the 66 venues in which Blue Strawberry is accredited. The event featured a King Charles III coronation theme, with a focus on His Royal Highness’ green agenda. The event was a celebration of Blue Strawberry's newest Spring Summer 2023 menu collection, which focuses on a commitment to excellence and innovation in luxury catering.

Guests were greeted at the entrance of the Edwardian townhouse by a stunning peacock made from flowers arranged by the renowned floristry company Pinstripes & Peonies. Guests then entered a tearoom where they rang for tea-themed cocktails, crafted by mixologist company Shake & Stir and sipped on Nyetimber’s limited-edition Kings Coronation classic cuvee. After snapping photos on a Union Jack Throne, guests proceeded to an indoor replica of Highgrove Gardens. Alongside Blue Strawberry’s events team, Pinstripes & Peonies and London-based production company Wise helped transform the Bill Boeing conference room into the famous gardens.

Once immersed in the regal gardens, guests indulged in vegetarian and vegan-inspired canapés from Blue Strawberry’s newest menu and enjoyed British summertime-themed cocktails served by wait staff from staffing agency Off To Work. The canapé menu included vegan avocado and spring cabbage terrine with broccoli and fig leaf puree and buckwheat praline; Enoki mushroom tempura with yuzu mayonnaise, wakame, and chili; and "All the Trimmings" - a zero-waste canapé created with off-cuts from each of the dinner dishes. Supplier Lick Me I'm Delicious provided a tipsy fountain and bubble volcano to elevate the indoor experience, and Sternberg Clarke supplied show-stopping entertainment for guests to enjoy.

Following a speech from Managing Director Stuart Jenkins, where he thanked venues, suppliers, and his team for their support in making the evening come to life, guests made their way to the chefs' tables, where Blue Strawberry's talented chefs prepared three mains from the Spring Summer 2023 menu collection. The mains included a roast fillet of ex-dairy cow sourced from Alternative Meats, a women-owned bespoke butchery, served with a watercress pesto and espelette piperade; Baked halibut served on barbecue leeks, with a chive and Riesling sauce and garnished with Cornish salted caviar from Exmoor Caviar; and a vegan celeriac tagliatelle with a tomato and walnut ragu which was made using locally sourced produce from County Supplies. Each main was expertly paired with wines supplied by Jeroboams.

After dining at one, or all three of the chef’s tables, with furniture and tableware supplied by Options Great Hire, guests were invited back to the Throne room to indulge in dessert canapés inspired by the crown jewels. The menu included UK-grown yuzu and lemon verbena macaroons; rhubarb and custard with ginger and demerara biscuits; vegan strawberry and orange blossom cremeux; and vegan chocolate and tonka bean with raspberry.
